Every kind of learner is welcome here
Some children don’t fit the mould of a big school, and that’s not a problem to fix. It’s who they are. At Atlas Academy they learn in small groups, at their own pace, with a principal who is also a registered counsellor.
ADHD
Short lessons, movement breaks, clear routines and lots of encouragement, so busy minds can focus and feel successful.
Autism
A calm, predictable day, patient teachers and small groups, where your child is understood instead of overwhelmed.
Extraordinary talents
Gifted and talented children can work ahead, go deeper and follow their passions, without waiting for the rest of the class.
Learning differences
For children who struggle with reading, maths or confidence, we start where they are and build from there.
We’re not a therapy centre, but we work hand in hand with parents and any therapists your child already sees.

What is the GED?
The GED is an internationally recognised high school equivalency, written in four subjects. It’s a real alternative for learners who didn’t finish matric, or who learn at home.
- Mathematical Reasoning
- Reasoning Through Language Arts (English)
- Science
- Social Studies
How it works in South Africa
- Written on computer at Pearson VUE centres at Boston City Campus, across the country.
- From age 17 (17-year-olds need an age waiver).
- The pass mark is 145 in each subject, and you must first pass the official GED Ready practice test.
- SAQA has evaluated the GED and found the National Senior Certificate (matric) its closest comparable qualification, at NQF level 4.
University entry rules differ by institution. Ask us what the GED can open up for your child.
